Privacy Policy

About this policy

Effective date: October 28, 2026. This Privacy Policy explains how 99archive handles information when you browse its catalog, use book pages or PDF downloads, or contact the site. 99archive is based in New York, USA. Questions or privacy requests may be sent to [email protected].

Information processed

When you request pages or files, the site and the services that deliver and protect it may process technical request information such as the requested page or file, date and time, network address, browser or device details, and information needed to identify and limit repeated requests. Site analytics are enabled. The current configuration specifies that IP addresses used for analytics and rate limiting are stored as keyed hashes. It also specifies that a Cloudflare visitor-IP header is trusted for those functions. This describes the configured handling of IP values; it does not mean that every network intermediary necessarily avoids processing an address to deliver a connection.

If you email the site, the sender address and the contents and attachments of your message are processed so that the request can be read and answered. Do not include passwords, payment details, government identification numbers, or unrelated sensitive information.

Books and downloads

Book catalog information and download requests are processed to show the service and provide requested files. The current configuration specifies that PDF files are kept in private server-side storage and streamed through the site. Download links are configured to remain valid for seven minutes. A short link lifetime helps limit reuse of a download URL; it is not a promise that related technical security records are immediately erased.

Purposes

Information is used to operate and maintain the catalog and downloads, measure site usage through analytics, protect the service against abuse, apply rate limits, troubleshoot faults, and respond to questions and rights requests.

Cookies, analytics providers, and other services

Analytics are enabled, but the configuration available for this policy does not identify the analytics provider, a complete inventory of cookies or browser storage, or every service that may receive technical request information. Hosting, delivery, security, analytics, and email providers may process information as needed to provide their services. Their exact identities and processing locations are not specified here, so this policy does not claim that no third-party processing, cookies, or international transfers occur. Your browser may provide controls for cookies and site storage; restricting them can affect some site functions.

Retention and security

The current configuration does not specify fixed retention periods for analytics records, keyed IP hashes, technical logs, or email correspondence. These records may be kept for the time reasonably needed to operate the service, protect it, address the relevant request, and meet applicable obligations, then deleted or de-identified when no longer needed. The site uses keyed hashes for IP values in analytics and rate limiting and private server-side storage for PDFs. No online service can guarantee absolute security; avoid sending information that is not needed for your request.

Your choices and requests

You may use browser controls to manage cookies and site storage. You may contact us to ask about a privacy concern or request relating to information you provided. Any rights available to you depend on the laws that apply to your situation. To help us handle a request, include the email address used to contact the site and a clear description of what you are asking us to do. We may need to verify a request before acting on it.

Children

This site is a general book catalog and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly seek personal information directly from children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child has sent personal information may contact us and request that we review it.

Changes and contact

This policy may be updated when the service or its practices change. The effective date above identifies the latest revision. For questions or requests, email [email protected]. 99archive is based in New York, USA.
