Terms of Use
Effective date and scope
Effective date: October 28, 2026. These Terms of Use apply when you visit or use the 99archive website, catalog, and download features. 99archive is based in New York, USA. By using the site, you agree to follow these terms and the rules of law that apply to you.
Using the site
You may browse the catalog and use available features for lawful personal or other uses permitted by the applicable rights and licenses. Do not disrupt the site, probe or interfere with its security, bypass access or download protections, misuse download links, or send automated requests that place an unreasonable burden on the service. Do not use the site to violate another person’s rights or applicable law.
Catalog information and availability
Book descriptions, metadata, links, and file availability are provided to help visitors find materials. Information can be incomplete or change over time. A listing does not guarantee that a title, file, format, or link will remain available, or that every catalog detail is error-free. Download links are temporary and are configured to expire after seven minutes. If a file or link is unavailable, you may try again later if the item remains available.
Book files and Creative Commons licenses
Book files on 99archive were collected from different websites where they were made available under Creative Commons licenses. Copyright remains with each work’s author, publisher, or other rights holder; providing access to a file does not transfer ownership to 99archive or to you. A Creative Commons license applies to a particular work and carries its own conditions. All six main Creative Commons licenses require attribution; some also restrict commercial use or adaptations, and some require adaptations to be shared under the same terms. Before reusing, sharing, adapting, or using a file commercially, check the license and source information for that specific work and follow all applicable conditions. Do not assume that permission for one file applies to another. Read the official Creative Commons license descriptions.
Where provided, retain attribution and notices, link to the license, and indicate changes as required by that license. If a listing is missing or appears to misstate a source or license, contact us through the Copyright & Content Requests page.
Third-party sources and links
Some materials or references originate from third-party websites. 99archive does not control those sites, their availability, or changes to their content. A link to a source is provided for identification or reference and does not mean that the third party endorses 99archive. The rights and license terms that apply to each work remain specific to that work and its source.
Service changes
We may update, suspend, restrict, or remove catalog entries, files, links, or features as needed to operate the service, respond to rights concerns, or address technical issues. We may revise these terms when the site or its practices change. The effective date above identifies the current version. Continued use after an updated version is posted means you use the site under the updated terms.
